  • were granted a bee grant that provided our students with honeybees
  • received a JET grant for almost $70,000 that allowed us to purchase numerous pieces of equipment for our healthcare pathways

  • hosted our second annual Career Fair with over 60 community businesses and vendors
  • purchased Chromebooks that allowed us to be very close to 1:1

While it’s impossible to capture every celebration within our district, these highlights illustrate the wonderful things going on. We have challenges that we will continue to plan for and goals that we will work toward, but we should not be defined by a single assessment. We won’t be. As I look back and reflect on our year, I realized I don’t need TEA to release our accountability ratings to know how we are doing. While TEA may issue ratings in the near future, that rating doesn’t begin to tell our story, so I’m blessed to be able to to tell it and say I’m proud to be a Bulldog. Thank you to the staff of Wortham ISD for making our district the best around and for helping us accomplish so much. There is no one better.
